Ermm…tetiba rasa nak share. All about knowledge and my work.

 

14feb 2012; aku kat office je.

Lepas tengahari bos panggil. Katanya nk hilangkan mengantok, so kita wat revision sket. Wah…peluang nk dok semeja dgn bos bukan senang. Btw, pagi td pon jupe boss sbb discuss pasal assignment. Hehehe…

 

“Yan, apa dia jantung process?”

“Sterilization”

“So, what the objectives of sterilization?”

Erk…senyum panjang. Dlm kepala dok ligat mengorek rak-rak data yg tersimpan at unconscious library.

“hah…yan, ko jgn malukan saya! Kalo tak ko rebus buku & minum airnya supaya bole ingat sampai bila-bila.” bos meneruskan bicara sambil tangannya dok memutar pen.

Aku senyum dan mula menjawab… gelabah gaks skali2 kena tanya dek bos.😆

“ok…ingat tuh, ini macam mana kita tahu rukun Islam dan rukun iman. Bila orang sebut pasal mill, all process fundamentals mesti kita tahu.” ujar bos penuh makna.

…dan kitaorang teruskan revision session pasal heart of process utk hari ini.

 

Alhamdulillah.

When we’re discussing on operational matter, semangat nk buka nota2 lama menusuk tajam sudut terdalam di minda. Jadi balik rumah, find & found… in my hand notes with poor hand writing,

1. Ripe fruit, mesocarp content: Oil (49%), water (35%), NOS (16%)

2. Unripe, mesocarp content: Oil (87.38 – (1.08 x % water content))

3. Fruits: Enzymes-deactivation -> heating at 55 degree C

4. FFB for storing a weeks, do not sterilize as it causes mold growth – possibility FFA rise

5. Sterilization objectives:

i) Inactivate lipolytic enzymes – stop FFA rise

ii) Facilitate mechanical striping – loosen the fruit at the bunch for threshing

iii) Soften the mesocarp – for fast digestion

iv) To dehydrate FFB for digestion & pressing process

v) Imparts physic-chemical changes in pericarp to aid in pressing and de-oiling of solids – for efficient digestion & clarification

vi) Pre-conditioning of nuts to minimize kernel breakage during pressing and nut cracking. Also helps the kernel to detach from the shell – efficient nut cracking

6. Sterilizer main issue :- difficult to release all air as it will be generated during sterilization, If one-quarter volume occupied by air and water at 50 degree C, the saturation pressure will drop from 143 degree C to 133 degree C (Dalton’s Law of partial pressure) impairing heat transfer.

  1. saya nak tanya berapa time n steam flow yang dibutuhkan untuk merebus dalam sterilizer dengan capasitas sterilizer 4 lori, 1lori@15 mt

    • Sdr Ukat…

      Dalam usaha untuk mencapai throughput maximum, masa yg diambil untuk ‘door-open to door-shut ‘ i.e. the time taken to discharge and charge-up (recharge) a steriliser, cannot be more than the interval time.

      Jadi kalo dah ada capacity sterilizer, we can calculate the cycle-time and interval time. Sy share formula here:-

      1) Cycle time = (Sterilization station capacity) / (Required throughput i.e. mill throughput)

      where the sterilization capacity (for the sterilization station) is define as
      Sterilization capacity = Capacity of one sterilizer x no. of sterilizer units

      2) Interval time = Cycle time / No. of sterilizers

      Berkenaan steam holding, pressure in the steriliser vessel is maintained from 30psig to maximum pressure for the steriliser vessel (normally 40psig at my workplace). However, ia bergantung kpd steam build-up time and the minimizing of pressure fluctuation at the back pressure vessel.

    • Bro…aku rs kalo ilmu dah ada di dada, eloklah dikongsikan bersama. Ilmu kalo tak diamalkan or dikongsikan, dibimbangi kita jadi lupa. Itulah penyakit yg takde ubat. Jom kita share apa yg kita tahu. Hehehe…btw, aku ikot sempat je nih😉
